For Mr Pearson. Bo'ness --

As he has little desire to make water & you mention
no swelling above the Pubis I fear Ischuria renalis; which
produces drowsiness & in all instances I have seen of it kills
by Lethargy. Difficult to remedy & I know nothing you can do
better than to give frequent Doses of the Spiritus nitr. dulc. &
if nitre does not rebute his Stomach and make him averse
to his drink, you may put some Nitre to the Decoctum Althææ

It is very proper to keep his belly regular & in the present state
of his urinary Passages, I would wish to do it rather by
Glysters, than by any other way, but if a Medicine is to be
given by the mouth, Glauber Salt is as good as any --
