For Mr Rowand Senr.

Tho I cannot make you so young as you were yet as
you have good stamina & cc.

I do not advise the Bark; but have sent you a
prescription for your cough & asthma. You will
always be the better of blistering & vomiting & you
must always keep your belly regular.

I believe Laudanum might give you better nights
rest but I cannot advise it unless I knew the state of
your pulse
or the effects in case of trial.

Let your Surgeon write me & c.

Take 2 drachms of best Asafœtida and 4 ounces of Pennyroyal Water. Dissolve, and to the strainings add 3 ounces each of Simple Cinnamon Water and Squill Syrup and a drachm of volatile Valerian Tincture. Mix. Label: Pectoral Mixture a table spoonful or if the Stomach bears it two table spoonful to be taken twice a day but particularly at bed time.
