Ensign John Wemyss. 65. Regt.

April 26. 1779.


Let the Perpetual Issue in his head be kept open. -- The Solution
ordered below to keep his Belly regular -- His head to be kept shaven
& water poured on it every morning before he takes his Whey. --


To ride Every forenoon some hours --- & also much in the fresh air
& gentle Exercise --- Diet light & cool, but not very low. a little
solid meat, but filling up his Meal with broth pudding & Vegetables
No Eggs Cheese nor Salted meals -- Fish of the lighter kinds spa¬
ringly -- At Dinner two or three Glasses of Wine or Punch, if they do not
increase his headach -- but at any rate never more -- Ordinary drink
water or Beer. -- No Animal food at Supper -- No Indian but Cocoa
Tea at Breakfast ------

Take two ounces of Soluble Tartar, one ounce of Glauber's Salts, two drachms of Spanish Sea-Salt, two drachms of Spanish Polycrest, two ounces of spring water and two ounces of simple cinnamon water. Dissolve and strain. Label: Aperient Solution; a tablespoon in a muchkin of new drawn cow milk whey.
