Mr Edmonstone Concerning Mrs Ross of Shetland


Certainly Tubercles in her Lungs-- she cannot bear any
Evacuations, & both for that & for stopping the Diarrhœea, you
must use Laudanum, but in larger doses than you have been
employing- The only thing that I think can be of service
to her will be sailing for a week or two at one time-
One other remedy you may try is the juice of Tussilago
leaves.
The leaves to be gathered fresh every morning &
the juice immediately expressed from them
, of which, she is
to to take a table spoonfull twice a day, increasing
the Dose, by a spoonfull at one time till she can
take as much of it as her Stomach easily bears- I have
known Stomachs bear 4 ounces twice a day---


If her Strength can anyways allow of it, you may try an
