For Mr Main


Your ailments may be cured by attention to a very few parĀ¬
ticulars.


Avoid all malt liquors. & for the present also wine, & take
plain water - & for strong drinks which you should take
very moderately, spirits & water. Take any plain solid meat
avoid broth, & all vegetables.- To restore the tone of your
stomach employ the Tincture I prescribed at Bo=ness, but
if your Stomach continues weak you must depend
most upon much riding on horseback; avoiding cold.
