To Lady Kincragie Concerning her Daughter.

I am sorry her complaints continue, but time and pains
& with the weather growing better allowing her to
get more air and exercise I am persuaded will at
length recover her. Let her continue the Regimen
&c I formerly advised and let her try the following

Take two ounces of Sweet Vitriol, an ounce of good-quality pure alcohol, half an ounce of composite Spirit of lavender; mix and label Cephalic Mixture one, two or three spoonfuls to be taken once or twice a day when her Spirits are in a Flurry or other Hysteric Symptoms are troublesome - but when she is tolerably easy this medicine should be laid aside or it may lose its effect &c

At all times avoid or remove
