For Miss Scott of Hawick

Take one ounce of Soluble Tartar, two ounces of Glauber's Salts, half an ounce each of polychrest salts and Spanish sea-salt, twelve ounces of spring water and four ounces of cinnamon simple syrup. Dissolve and strain. Label: Aperient Solution. Two table Spoonfulls to be taken in a Muchkin of Spring water Every morning at divided draughts, in the manner of a Mineral or Sea Water. This dose is supposed to keep her belly regular without purging. If it does either more or less, the does may be increased or diminished.
