Mr Copland about Miss Marshall

Manage her stomach by avoiding for a time all solid
food; & even liquids, in small quantity, compensating by
the frequency. Continue Exercise, but should
not take food ↑immediately or for a good while↑ before her ride. Since she will not
have glysters, give her the Pills frequently at least in pro¬
portion to the Opiate you employ. From what you
tell me of the effects of amusement I am persuaded the frequent
returns of vomits may be moderated by Opiates; therefore
continue the Drops, & increase the dose in such
a case [100?] will be a moderate dose, especially when
brought to that only by degrees. If the large dose
be disagreeable by the quantity of Elixir, you may change
the Form & mix 2 parts Spt lavend. compt. & one part
T. Theb & of this 60 drops on sugar as before
for a dose but this last may be given in a spoon¬
ful of water & in increasing the dose diminish the
proportion of the Spt Lavend. Continue Aromatic
Tincture
& with the medicines mentioned, continue the rub¬
bing
& bathing.
