For Mrs Burrow

From every present & past circumstances of her complaints, I am persuaded
you judged right in suspecting more or less of Calculus in the bladder & of consequence
you have been right in advising the Lixivium. I think & thought before
that it is a remedy suited to her in several respects, & I therefore wish she would
be steady in taking it for some time.

No doubt of her having nephritic affections, but must observe, there
are also some symptoms of Nervous & perhaps Hysteric affection, &
particularly the large quantities of urine frequently voided are a symptom of the
latter rather than of the former. In ths view, some anodyne & antiĀ¬
spasmodic
, necessary. Your doses of the former are too low. But I leave
you with this hint to judge by the effects. A little time & the trial of
medicines will certainly discover more of the disease &cc
