Normalized Text

[Page 1]
To Mr Bathie about 1 Captain Skene

Not surprising his meeting with accidents at this Season.

Must gaurd against cold the next attack by gaurding against
Cold. & not only the changes, but the state of the season.

Blister to be kept open & his belly regular.

A little Diacodium at night may be proper. To add Spirit Minders
seems proper., but the pushing of sweat doubtfull.

His last attack owing only to the coldness of the milk -

Milk still the most proper diet but never quite cold, & better
than roots or greens & will not heat him like Animal food.

November 14th 1774

Notes:

1: It is not obvious why this has been struck through since the ensuing letter does appear to be addressed to Dr Bathie, rather than directly to the patient Captain Skene.
