Dear Sir

You forgot one thing when you was here, &. I did not
mind it myself, & that was to tell me what medicine I shou,d use
in case of costiveness; Which I have been much troubled with of late,
especially in the time I was taking your medicine; I thought myself
much the better of your medicine it gave me a better appetite, & I was
likewise greatly the better of your regimen, but I got a cold last
week which has given me a great back cast; I keep always by me
some of the pills which you prescribed the first time I consulted
you, I have been using them of late, but when I take one pill it
sometimes gives me two stools which does me much hurt. I have
taken half a pill these several nights past which I think does
much better, or if you think that I shou,d continue taking the same pills,
I hope you will be so good as to let me know. I beg the favour that
yo will send me inclos,d the receipt for my medicine that you
prescribed & likewise the receipt for my Sisters. I think every person
that consults a Physician shou,d have their own Recipe, & then
they can get their Medicine from whom they please; My Sister
I think is a little better, but still she passes a great deal of small
worms
, she keeps the injection but about five minutes & that with diffi¬
culty; perhaps it is too strong for her as she is very weak; I myself am
very weak yet; sometimes when the weather is cold I can ride 5 or 6
miles without sweating at other times when the weather is warm I
can ride very little even in the evening; I intend to begin a course
