Dear Sir

I know not how to begin an apology to a friend I have
so long neglected - I am I assure You sorry for my fault & beg your forgiveness
sincerely. I am, I assure You, very sorry for my fault, & beg your
forgiveness most sincerely.

I must not however forget your indolence. You will
remember my commission for the Encyclopedea Britannica - Your
not giving orders to Eliott about it has disappointed a
friend, whom I wished much to oblige, & who is always
kind to me - The Letter You wrote to (↑me↑) Paris did not
arrive there before I had left the Kingdom, tho I put
off my return several weeks - Notwithstanding I
bought all the Theses I could find upon the subject of
Midwifery - One Thesis I would have gladly procured.
It was written by the Nephew & assistant of Monseiur
Baudelouque - I will send the Theses, if You please,
by the Coach - Wasson, or by any other conveyance -
I will send at the same time a small Pamphlet
De l'Altaiment des Enfans par leurs meres -

I must intreat You to deliver the enclosed Case to
Dr. Cullen without loss of time - Mr. Wood is a man of the
first consequence in this part of the Country, & his anxiety
for Master Wood is so great, that the smallest delay

[Page 2]

may be highly injurious to me. The whole family are full
of impatience for the Drs. opinion - Be kind enough to
give the Dr. a couple of Guineas, & Mr. Parkinson will
repay you in a few Days. I must intreat You, if You
value my prosperity in Life, not to delay a moment
in sending the Case to Dr. Cullen, or in procuring an
answer from the Dr. - I hope You will favour me
with a few Lines when Dr Cullen returns (↑gives↑) his opinion
I will then give You a particular account of every
thing that has befallen me since I had the pleasure
of seeing You - The Post waits - Excuse this scrawl

I am with unfained reguard your very sincere
Friend & well wisher
E Harrison

I received a Letter from Dr. Lister a few Days ago he was
then very well - Cookson gets on a little at Lincoln -
I have exceeded my greatest expectations

Adieu

Please to present my Compliments to Mrs. Stuart & my other Friends -
