Culross Sunday.
March 6th ––
Dear Sir


I have been delay'd writing you till I
could observe any Change in the Childs
Illness, but as yet I cannot see much only
his Apetite is prety good and Mrs. Gilchrist
thinks the Swelling at the Upper part is
much Softer. his water is rather thicker
we tryed the Castor Oil yesterday but
it did not Operate ↑till late at night↑ this morning he
has had a powder. The drops are given
regularly twice a day. The Child compl¬
ains of pain in his hands and feet and
rests ver'y Ill at Night. If I observe
any Other Alteration take place I shall not
fail to inform you regularly of them.


The enclosed is Just come from my Brother
who I believe mistakes the Childs Complaints
