Dr. Cullen
Sir

When I waited on you in December
last, for your advice in a Scorbutic complaint
you prescrib'd for me a Diaphoretic Decoction, which
you order'd me not to begin with till the Spring was
advanced, & not to take any Medicine in the interme¬
diate time, which I have observ'd, (excepting a few Bottles
of Harrogate Water.) I began to take the Decoction the
2d of this Month & have taken regularly a Quart
Bottle [per?] day ever when I had taken it a few
days, I thought it had a visible good effect upon me
as the scurf and irruption decreas'd much in several
parts of my Body, particularly my Arms, Legs ↑&↑ Face
but for some days past it has increased again & the
Blotches
carry a Redness & freshness about them & as
the time prescribed for taken the Decoction is nearly
expir'd, I thought it best to write an account of
my situation, that no time might be lost, I have
a good deal out all over me, my Hands & Face not
excepted (pray coud I [except?] outward application to
them as it is disagreeable to the Eye) my state of
health is very good. I eat no Fish & am careful in my
Diet. Your further advice will much oblige
