Greenock 8 May
Sir

Agreable to your orders have taken the Balsamick
Mixture
for the Time you prescribed. I now
propose to begin the Electuary I was [now?]
able to take more than 100 spoonfuls in the day
My stomack would not receive any more with Ease
the Costive Complaint Continues very obstinate
for many days together and the Discharge has
been Constant and severe for this fortnight or
3 weeks: having it in my Power to go to a friends house
in the Country where I may have Goat whey
and Sea Bathing. I [beg?] To know your opinion
with regard to the Goat whey. The Bathing I have
your Directions for the {illeg} of my back
is Exceedingly Painful and [uneasy?] to me

I observe your Directions about my Diet. Breakfast
[is?] Milk and taken but Two Cups of Tea in the afternoon
when Convenient. [I will be glad to hear from you?]

I am Sir your Most obedient
M Campbell
