Sir


Our Patient Mrs Buckle, on the 6th. of May last had an Hæmoptoe took
place which continued about 6 or ↑8↑ Days; & since that time has complaind
of a pain in the right side & Breast, sometimes in the Shoulder & then into the left
side
, do not complain of Thirst but the aforementioned Symptoms are attended
with general debility & morning sweats. The Pulse weak, low, & not
more than 65 or 70 strokes in the minute
, & the belly is in general regular.
--- You are well acquainted with Mrs. Buckles thin spare habit, she
has very little Cough, & the breathing is tolerably free & easy considering
the above mentioned symptoms -- shall be glad to have Dr. Cullen's --
opinion in this Case the first opportunity ----


The Medicines hitherto used have been of the niterous, mucilaginous
kind with the Decoction Cortex Peruvianus ----


Mrs Buckle is about thirtyone years of age, very tall & slender,
Breast narrow, & of a pale complexion - used very little
exercise. Been married about eleven years, and
bore six healthy Children, to the three former she gave
the Breast, to the latter it was not thought adviseable -
About two years ago she was threaten'd with an Hæmoptoe ↑after Childbed↑
but soon recruited & remained in tolerable health, became
with Child again
& in the beginning of April produced a
healthy Child - - On the 6th of May the Hæmoptoe came
on with Symptoms as above related.
