Sir

I did myself the honour of sending you
a case for your opinion, which I desired Mr. Garden
of Troup, our County Member, to direct & forward
to you on Thursday was eight days. But as that was
the day of his Election & no Post goes off on Friday, it is
probable, that is was not put into the post office at Aberdeen
till Saturday was eight days yet as there is no answer this
day yet, I am affraid it may have met with some accident;
the rather as there was a note in ↑it↑ for £5. This occasions my
giving you the trouble, in case it has not come to hand,
to cause enquire at the Edinburgh Office about it.

I have since I wrote you last, during two or three nights
{illeg} been much distressed with difficulty of Breathing
in so much that I would scarce keep my bed, tho' I sat up in
it ↑now was much easier in Day [tho I was up?]↑ As I have had weak nerves all my life, I'm sometimes apt
to think that my liver as well as these Asthmatic Complaints
are a little nervous

I am with the greatest regard
sir
your most obedient
most {illeg} servant
