Dear Sir
Glasgow January 3:rd 1780


I have ben this sume years bad in the
winter, this three years past I have been pritey well in sumer -
My Complaint is if I catch cold I am extremly bad with a coch
which I belive not to be removed this three Outums my could
brogt One me a fevar which continued ten or twelve Days
& was obliged to blood. I have been varey bad this seven weeks
& it has brought one me ane Asmay so that ↑I↑ slipt but little
I am not now got rather beter but this asmay still continuing
which I take to be a Nervos troble by the ways that it
affects me it often brings on cramps in hands and legs
and when the the Coch comes on all in a sudent like a kinko
which affects my body all over it brings on a costiveness
and I am obiged every night or every other night to take a pill to
keep me ane opene belly otherwise I wold cos altogether
as I am Sertane that my complent is Nervos qorry wold it
be proper to take the prescribing barks either in a tincture or
Boulos or if any thing you shall Judge proper to prescribr¬
ibe so good as to advise me of. I wish yow my compliments of
the Season and I am
