Dear Sir

I have desisted writing to you this some time
wishing to have some more particular Accounts to give, & willing
to see how Mrs Cokayne was disposed at her usual Times; it is
now two Periods Past since I had the honor of writing to you
and we have Administred the usual medicines Viz the Aloet.
Pill
-- the Enemas -- & the Opium -- her first Attacks are
yet Violent but not so bad as usual -- we get no Relief till
we administer the Opium & Glyster & then when once Relief
is procur'd which is generally in two or 3 hours -- She suffers
no more Pains of any Consequences during that Period -- but
Dr S give me leave to say I fear the Opiate will if long Continued
be productive of no very good Consequences -- for at present altho
she does not Suffer much Pain she is Render'd Extremely weak and
Low
for 4 or 5 days afterwards much more so than usual and
Complains of a Universal Want or Hollowness in her Inward Parts
we have not fail'd to give her Every nourishing thing we could think
of and for this week last past, she has been persuaded to Ride a
few Miles Every day on Horseback, should be glad to know if you
approve of that Exercise for her -- she says -- she finds herself
considerably Stronger since & her Pain of the Stomach which

[Page 2]

used to be almost Continual, has much abated -- -- I have this to Observe
that when the menstrual Discharge is flowing, she is much afflicted with
Nausea's Violent Pain in the Back & Stomach and indeed often when
free from that Matter, she has Violent Nausea's --- It gives me much
Pain to trouble you so often Knowing how much trouble I give You without
any Recompence ----- I made bold to send you a few Birds by the
Diligence on the second day of the Season, which I hope arrived in good Condition
and hope soon to be able to send a brace or two more, our weather has not
been very good lately or should not have been so negligent I beg You will
Make no Apologies It is the only way I can at present make any Return
for the many Obligations I am under to you Mrs C presents her best
wishes for your Health & long life and Accept the same from

Your obliged Humble Servant

W Cokayne ---

this last Period A Considerable Quantity of Fibruous Coagulum
appear'd which has made her very Uneasy
