Dear Sir

I have now the pleasure to inform
you that every appearance now shows
Mr Pringles disease is yeilding. He had yes¬
terday four copious Bilious stools. His
water is not near so high colour'd &
altho at times He complains of spasmodic
affections
in the Region of the Stomach
they are less severe, they generally come
on towards evening attended with some
light degree of a feverish Paroxym
last night. His pulse was eighty in a
minute
but was carried off by a univer¬
sal sweat
which continued all night

[Page 2]

& as now not more than sixty four. As
yet He has no appetite as neither the
Beef Tea or Chicken Broth [satt?] easy
upon His stomach I tried Him with
Cow Whey He likes it & drinks plen¬
tifully of it. The night before last He
took one ounce & half of Sacred Tincture it
had had no effect when I came here about
one oClock I gave Him a large dose of
Magnesia which [sett?] all [a?] going & the
consequence was the discharge of
Bile, as He is to have this day of
respite I have given directions for

[Page 3]

the Tincture being repeated this night
& the Magnesia tomorrow if neccessary
I hope to hear that Miss Cullen is better

I am with respects to your family
