Sir

I was favourd with yours concerning Mr Craufuird's case
in due course-- His head was Blisterd according to your advice
& repeated again in about a fortnight
- He did not feel
immediate relief- but yet he has recoverd very much since-
He has got more strength, can bear noise & light better, &
the confusion in his head is almost gone- but the pain
he still complains off, though not constant
- It as
usual affects the
right side, particularly above his
Eye
, flies through all that side, & sometimes over the
whole head
- and since he was Blisterd & the pain has
come doun at times through his jaws
- He sleeps
better than he did, but not so well as usual
-
Some days ago, he had a very particular feeling- As
he described it, he thought himself dreaming when
he was awake in the day time, & this continued
for some days- but yesterday when I saw him
it was gone off- He walks out daily in good
weather- and has recoverd his flesh amazingly-
Indeed I am afraid he does not strictly follow

[Page 2]

your advice with regard to diet- He has always been
accustomed to full living, and fancies that his Stomach
will not put up with a thinner diet
- I think it
necessary to inform you of this that you may
again caution him against ↑it↑- He has for some
time, drank Cow Whey in the morning, which has
a very good effect in purging him gently
-

I can say little concerning his pulse, as I
have seen him only once, since his head was
Blisterd
- At that time, it was about 80- He
desires me to inform you of his present situation
that you may direct him in what is farther
necessary to be done for his recovery- I have
always the Honour to be with the utmost
Gratitude and Respect

Sir
Your Obedient and
Oblidged humble Servant
Everard McIntyre
