Dear Sir

I send you Mrs Arnot at Cunochuy's case
with an account of my Practice since I saw her
& beg youl consider it & send me your Opinion &
further Directions.

She is Aged above 80 of a thin [spare?] habit
but enjoyed Pretty good health till yesterday Morn¬
ing that she was seized with short transient Chilliness
which were succeeded with transient pains in her
forehead & striking up towards the Vertex with
a loss of strength & nausea a frequent pulse
rather feeble than hard
, a considerable degree
of heat
with out much thirst & her tongue dry but
not yet discoloured. I gave her yesterday a puke
with 12 grains of Ipecacuan & an Infusion of horse
Radish
& camomile flowers she vomited thrice easy
enough & seemed to be a little relieved after it &
as she had been costive for three days gave a tea
cupfull of an infusion of senna & manna which

[Page 2]

operated once at bedtime she got a [Sal Abrynthin?]
draught. This Morning her pulse much as yesterday
had a considerable heat her skin dry & a frequent
desire to pass water which was high Coloured & in
small quantity
, very little thirst. her headach as
severe as yesterday & the white of her eyes a little
red. A heat in her soles. Poultices of
bread & Milk were applied to her soles & cow whey
with a little nitre given for Drink at times & then
grott greuel at Other times. as she was troubled yester¬
night with a croaking in the abdomen I am to try her
to night with a little Camphorated emulsion in
Place of the [Sal Abrynthis?] Draught & if that does
not cause a gentle perspiration a small Dose of
[Solution Tart Emet.?] according as I see necessary.
I hope to have your advice as soon as possible

With Respectfull compliments to you & yours
I am Dear Sir You Most Obedient
& very humble servant
