Letter from John Seed in Belfast, reporting on his progress with the seton in his neck, bouts of vomiting and fits, and seeking advice on his plan to return to the Barbadoes in 2 months' time. He includes 'a receipt I got some time ago from a Lady who strongly recommended me to try it [...] but I wou'd not venture to try any quack medicine without first letting you know. You have also another receipt from another lady which has also cured some People'. He encloses a sample of powder from the first lady, for Cullen to identify.
