Letter from [T.?] Shiels in Dublin, concerning the cases of his friends Mr and Mrs Knox. Mrs Knox suffers from headaches. Mr Knox has been treated with Selters water by somebody else against fits of the gout but still has problems, turning yelloow. Shiels also mentions that he is himself in poor health and announces to give an account of it in 2 or 3 parts. 30 June 1772

Reply in the form of an incomplete corrected draft by Cullen on the cases of Mr and Mrs Knox answering an enquiry from T. Shiels in Dublin. It is all in Cullen's own hand, but a recipe and editorial corrections have clearly been added with a different pen. The cross and other marks are Cullen's system for marking where amendments are to be integrated into to polished version.July 1772
