Case of ' A. B.' , [identified as Alexander Maculloch] who at 14 was seized w[ith] a giddiness in his head, w[hich] occasioned his falling down and made him cry', and at 15 and 16 was 'observed one morning, while in bed, foaming at [the] Mouth'. He is now 28, and the 'Convulsive Compl[aints]' seem to be worsening. 'A.B.' is a means of disguise for purposes of confidentiality. This case report was originally composed on 4 January 1776, but for purposes of collation the date when copied (for sending to Cullen) is entered into the database.8 August 1781
